If you look through David Strand’s document, please let me know if you can find an answer to why Issues, Etc. was terminated and its host and producer fired with President Kieschnick’s knowledge but not the Board for Communication Services. I only read it through quickly. I’m sure it’s in there.

So David Strand finally released his “Questions and Answers” document about the cancellation of Issues, Etc.
Some of the answers are hilarious. Some of them are sad. Some of them are untruthful. As you may have noticed, the folks here at Augsburg1530 are super busy. But I’ll try to parse some of the “better” (by which [...]

Okay, we’ve spent more than enough time figuring out that we’ve got some problems on our hands.
We tried many good faith efforts to get the LCMS leadership to listen to us and they decided not to.
So what do we do? Do we sit around and keep complaining? Or do we work to retain our Lutheran [...]

Yesterday we discussed how churches that hide their Lutheran identity almost as well as Lutheran doctrine are considered by LCMS leaders to be those with practices that other congregations should emulate.
Apparently the Texas District has a particular problem with church bodies being ashamed of the name Lutheran. The Texas District is trying to start 200 [...]

The Iowa District East passed a fantastic resolution calling for, among other things, an independent audit of KFUO:
To Request the Restoration of “Issues, Etc.” on KFUO AM, the Disclosure of Board for Communication Documents Related to Its Cancellation, and an Independent Audit of KFUO:

This weekend we noted that JeffersonHills Church was being highlighted in a recent LCMS publication article about best practices.

This is a link to a .pdf publication for Ablaze! church planters. On the second page of this publication is an article about Best Practices in church planting. Guess which church is highlighted?
That’s right: JeffersonHills Church.
The one that put up ads about that said, e.g. “JeffersonHills Church Sucks.” Signed by Satan.
When I told my husband [...]

There is a forum called the American Lutheran Publicity Forum where ELCA and LCMS folks get together and discuss issues going on in their respective church bodies.
I’ve been checking it periodically, awaiting Rev. David Benke’s explanation for how he mistakenly lied — or didn’t (we’re still waiting for his explanation) — about Rev. Daniel Preus’ [...]

So when I served on the Board for Communication Services, we tried to fill a few positions. One of the positions was Director of News and Information (I think that was what it was called). The bylaws required that a slate of candidates be approved by the Council of Presidents. And we forwarded the names [...]
