At a Congregational meeting today, May 4th, Trinity Ev. Lutheran Congregation, Millstadt, IL, elected and called the Rev. Todd A. Wilken as Assistant Pastor. The Call documents were hand delivered by the Rev. Michael Kumm to Pastor-Elect Wilken at noon today. Please remember Pastor Wilken in your prayers as he deliberates this call. Please also keep Trinity Ev. Lutheran Congregation in your prayers.

Pastor has been praying for Rev. Wilken (Jeff, too) every Sunday for the past month. I’m sure I can talk him into continuing that for a few more Sundays.

I am happy for Rev. Todd. Any word on Mr. Jeff? If Rev.Todd accepts this call, probably the Concordia Plan will continue to cover all the Wilkins (I’m guessing). For Mr. Jeff, a layman, benefits don’t “kick in” at most employers until several months have passed.
Thus I continue to pray for both men and their families.
Does this mean that a new version Issues, Etc. is no longer being considered? Forgive me, but I’ve been a Lutheran for few than ten years, and what I have observed about “calls” has been pretty confusing. What does this mean?
Rob,
No. In fact, just the opposite. Stay tuned. More to come…..
Pr. Wilken’s call will allow him to remain “rostered” as a Called pastor in the LCMS, remain on Concordia Health plans and retirement packages. His duties will be determined by the congregation’s Board of Elders and myself, and may not always be within the “confines” of our “local” ministry.
Wonderful! Praise the Lord!
Kumm, I always knew you rocked.
God be praised and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran congregation be thanked. We all know that the cream rises to the top and truth always wins the day and this is very good news on all counts. I only wish I lived closer to Milstadt to be part of a congregation who “gets it”. Thanks to the pastor, board and the congregation. You have done a great thing.
Rev. Kumm, Wonderful for Rev. Wilken, his family, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran and all of us…for today and all the tomorrows to come… Alleluia!!! Thank you and the Trinity congregation. Lets keep all including Jeff and his family in our prayers.
