Steve Siegel

Six days ago I asked David Strand, Vicki Biggs and Barbara Ryan to tell me whether or not Steve Siegel is employed by KFUO and, if so, in what capacity.

They have not been able to answer my question. Isn’t that weird?

  1. Check the KFUO website. He’s a co-host on the Afternoon Show.

  2. Take a look here.

  3. Thanks anon for the link

Interesting… he joined the WT on 5/15/08.

  4. The WT asks:
“Please briefly introduce yourself and share why you would like to be a part of the Wittenberg Trail Online Community.”

    He answers:
“Pastor, Radio host at KFUO and interested in a Lutheran perspective on current events.”

    It’s all just tooooooooooooooo strange.

  5. Here’s what I’ve been able to piece together about Rev. Siegel’s background… From the history, I doubt he’ll be “controversial” in any sense (good or bad) and the Lutheran Hour sermons are hopefully not an indication of what we can expect from behind the microphone. (Interestingly, I wasn’t able to find any connection between Rev. Siegel and apologetics per-se either.)

Overall - looks like a rather “bland” character… anyone else know anything about him? Any parishoners from his congregation in Reese Michigan that can give us some insight?

St. Louis, MO, Oct. 6, 2005 — Lutheran Hour Ministries has named Rev. Steven Siegel as its new Director of North American Ministries. He will officially begin his new position in St. Louis Nov. 14.

Prior to his work at Trinity Lutheran, Siegel spent 13 years as a talk show host, producer, and program director at numerous radio stations in Illinois and Wisconsin. While working at WBKV-AM and WBWI-FM in West Bend, Wisconsin, Siegel was responsible for the development and implementation of all programming, completed more than 3,000 on-air interviews, and moderated numerous political debates.

Steven brings to Lutheran Hour Ministries a strong media background,” said LHM Executive Director Greg Lewis. “His secular communications experience combined with his work within the church as a lay-leader and pastor allow Steven to be well prepared for managing our North American Ministries’ efforts.”

“For The Love Of God? Or The Love Of Money”

Does the Bible really say that “money is the root of evil?” Or is God telling us that it’s something more fundamental to possessions that can cause problems, even to the point of wandering away from the faith? (1 Timothy 6:6-19)

    Guest Speaker: Rev. Steve Siegel

The Samaritan woman Jesus met at the well was a social outcast. but that did not stop her from telling everyone in the village who Jesus was. And because of her testimony, many came to believe in Him as the Savior of the world.

  7. After the Afternoon Show on 05/14 on aliens and Christianity and the hosts somewhat unclear understanding of a New Testament perspective on this issue, I emailed hosts Steve and Diane with a link to the WT forum on this issue.

I’m guessing he signed up for WT on that day in order to retrieve that forum discussion.

My prayer is that they will use the WT as a resource for topical information and Scriptural support for our Lutheran understanding of these and other issues.

  8. not weird.
I fully expect the CGM folks to ignore anyone to whom they do not report; and not respond. Look what they did to Rev Otten’s Christian News all of these years.
Of course, when an essay makes it more mainstream Wall Street Journal or World Magazine, they will. And then somehow, the 8th commandment does not apply to their open attacks.
I wonder why “john” on this blog keeps writing and responding. Maybe he has not been completely brainwashed by JF and/or PLI, but is only like many of us once were–more open-minded and attracted to the CGM rhetoric. It does sound positive, but on further examination, nothing could be more disgusting.

  9. >interested in a Lutheran perspective on current events.

    BWHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ROFLOLOLOLMAO!!

Why doesn’t he already HAVE a Lutheran perspective?

  10. I started to leave him this message at the Trail, but I chickened out–er, I mean–I thought better of it.
    >You mean that Christ-centered-cross-focused-for-the-21st-century perspective?
That’s why I used to listen to Issues, Etc.
    Welcome to the Trail.<
After all, he didn’t fire anybody or cancel anything, so…..
    didn’t seem fair.

  11. Siegel stepped into the shoes of a called minister unScripturally deprived of his position.

Luther has some very rude words to say about anyone who would do that…”robbers” was one; is it too strong to say “murderer” was another?

One of the experts (or one in possession of Luther’s works on disk) can probably help here. :)

  12. We don’t need a Steve Siegel. We need a national broadcast, three hours or more per day featuring Todd Friel (Way of the Master) and Todd Wilken (The Way of the Lutheran heart). What a blockbuster that would be. Hybels and Warren would shake in their boots.

How about it? Unleash these two committed Christians on the world and see what would happen.
