Open letter to LCMS Leadership
Dear sirs,
We were very saddened to hear that “Issues, Etc.” was canceled during Holy Week this year. This radio program has been a powerful voice for all that the LCMS should teach and preach because it consistently promoted a confessional Lutheran worldview.
As disappointing as “Issues” untimely cancellation was, however, the lack of proper explanation for its cancellation is even more disturbing. It is because of this that we felt some action must be taken. We are not asking that you bring “Issues, Etc.” back on the air, we are simply asking for an honest and complete answer to the question: “Why?”
As men of God, and as leaders in the LCMS, we respectfully ask that you come forward with a detailed and comprehensive explanation to this question. If the matter was handled with integrity then we trust that you will have no difficulty doing so.
In light of Dr. Strand’s explanation we would specifically like you to provide answers to Dr. Erich Heidenreich’s questions. We would also like to see a comprehensive list of the “programmatic reasons” for canceling the show.
Signed,
Your Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
